Frequently Asked Questions

Things to consider before ordering
How long should I wait before applying wall stickers or putting up wallpaper on freshly painted walls?

We recommend waiting at least three weeks. Applying wallpaper or stickers to uncured paint may result in adherence issues and could damage the freshly painted surface. Always refer to the paint manufacturer's guidelines for the specific curing time of the paint you've used on your walls.

What are the essential requirements for wallpaper application?

To ensure the best results, it's crucial that the wall is dry, lightly coloured (to minimise show through), smooth, clean, and dust-free.

Can I apply the wallpaper on washable or acrylic paint?

We strongly advise against applying our wallpaper on top of washable or acrylic paint, as it may prevent proper adhesion.

Which sticker finishes right for me - fabric or gloss?Β

Our fabric stickers have a textured, uncoated finish which feels like wallpaper whereas our gloss stickers are shiny and smooth.

If you’re still unsure about what material to use, you can purchase samples of both to compare here. Alternatively, you may send a picture of your wall surface via our contact form, we can then explain which of our materials we believe is right for you.

What is Peel and Stick wallpaper?

Peel and Stick wallpapers have a smooth, matte finish and comes with a special permanent adhesive. They are easy to apply, repositionable without residue, and waterproof, making them suitable for various spaces

What is Pre-Paste wallpaper?

Pre-Paste wallpaper has a non-reflective, semi-matte finish. It requires traditional decorating techniques, activated with water. It produces sharp images, is highly durable, and easily removable using water.

If you’re still unsure about what material to use, please send a picture of your wall surface, we can then explain which of our materials we believe is right for you.

How do I determine how much wallpaper to order?

We usually supply our pre-paste and peel and stick wallpaper as standard in 240cm / 2.4m drops with a width of 52cm /0.52m (including an overlap). However, this will depend on the overall dimensions of your wall. To work out how much you need, please measure your entire wall, and then round it up. For example, if your wall is 240cm high x 320cm wide you will need to order size: 240cm x 350cm. Each panel will be sent with a slight overlap to make installation easier; we’ll also add a little extra on top of your dimensions as well!

Should I apply the wallpaper and wall stickers myself or get someone else to do it?

The application of wallpaper and wall stickers is generally a straightforward process that you can do yourself. We provide detailed instructions with each order to guide you through the application process. However, if you're not comfortable doing it yourself or if you have a large or complex design, you may consider hiring a professional for a flawless finish.

Ultimately, the choice depends on your comfort level and the specific requirements of your project. For more information please read our blog on this topic here.

How should I prepare my walls before applying the stickers?

Proper wall preparation is crucial for a successful application. Before applying the stickers, ensure that your walls are clean, dry, and smooth. Wipe off any dust, dirt, or grease using a mild detergent or a damp cloth. Avoid using harsh cleaning agents, as they may affect the adhesive properties of the stickers. If your walls have recently been painted, make sure the paint is fully cured before applying the stickers. For more information please visit instructions page.

Can you apply wall stickers to textured or bumpy wall surfaces?

For optimal adhesion, it's recommended to apply wall stickers to smooth, clean surfaces. If your wall has a heavily textured finish, you may need to take extra care during application to ensure the stickers adhere properly. If you have a textured surface, we advise you send us an image so we can make sure we supply the best material for your wall. Sometimes this means printing on a special high tack material.

Installation and application
Are there instructions included with the order?

We send out instructions with all our orders. A copy of these can also be found here.

Can the stickers be removed?

All our stickers are removable. To remove a sticker, start at one corner and peel it away from the wall slowly and at a low angle. We advise you pull the sticker back on itself rather than pulling it straight out from the wall. This helps to minimise the risk of tearing. If the sticker is stubborn or has been on the wall for a long time, you can use a hairdryer or a heat gun to warm up the adhesive. Hold the heat source a few inches away from the sticker and move it back and forth. The heat helps to soften the adhesive, making it easier to peel off.

Troubleshooting
Why might the colours of the wallpaper differ slightly from what appears on my screen when looking at your website?

Colours may vary due to monitor differences. If you're concerned about colour accuracy, please order a sample.

My wall sticker has a fold/crease. Will this ruin how it looks on my wall?

Although a fold or crease in your vinyl may seem daunting, rest assured that it's still entirely possible to apply it to your wall with care and patience. Ensure you follow the supplied instructions diligently, using a squeegee or credit card to gently smooth out the affected area during application. If the crease persists, consider applying gentle heat from a hairdryer to help the vinyl relax and adhere more effectively.

My wall stickers have bubbles. What should I do?

First, see if you can gently smooth it out by pressing the bubble with your hand, guiding air towards the edges to release it. If this doesn’t work, you will need to poke the bubble very carefully with a pin. Once punctured, smooth the area with your hand or a squeegee to remove the air. Remember, gentle patience is key. Your walls will be bubble-free in no time! For more information, you can also read our blog on this very matter.
